About
The Artist:
I’m J. Boyd, a self taught artist who works mainly in acrylics & watercolor.
My preferred format is miniature art, most commonly ACEO. Though my artwork doesn't usually
have blatant Christian themes or influences, I consider myself a Christian artist. I believe God made many kinds of
beauty & create cards with a variety of themes.
I currently sell my art on eBay under the user ID julee_bug and
through my personal website. If you are interested in purchasing any of the art in my gallery, you can contact me via e-mail
through my website. Also, many of my designs are available on merchandise; such as mugs, greeting cards, magnets and
clothing; in my shop.
A Brief History of ACEO: Miniature Masterpieces
Artist trading cards (ATC) are 2 ½ x 3 ½ inch miniature works of art
made to be traded or given away. They can be any medium and are produced as originals, limited editions, or in series.
ATC
have been around almost as long as art has. They have always been used by artists, especially during the Impressionist years,
to trade with fellow artists so they could study each others techniques without money being involved.
However, this
left the general public at a disadvantage. Some enterprising artists saw the demand and began making art cards available for
sale. These are known as Art Cards, Editions and Originals (ACEO) and they, too, are 2 ½ x 3 ½ inches in size.
Artists
from every corner of the globe are offering these miniature masterpieces in every conceivable medium, style, and subject.
They are collectible, affordable and portable!!
